How to make a ninja half mask? (No t-shirt masks!)?

I've made the last minute decision to be a ninja for Halloween, and I want a half mask (only the bottom half), but I'm not sure of the best way to go about creating it. I'd prefer if it were a light material that I could speak through and still be understood. It also has to look decent the entire way around because I'll be wearing my hair up.
